Heather Before Heather Before

In the summer of 2008 my size 10 clothes were starting to get pretty tight and I was on my way to a size 12.  I was exhausted all the time, I drank Dr. Pepper like it was water, and I was grumpy more often than not.  I was bigger than I had ever been in my life (for the exception of being pregnant.) I was frustrated with myself and knew something had to change.  I didn’t want to keep buying bigger and bigger clothes!

It took me a few more months to get motivated enough to begin working out regularly, but I began CrossFit on October 1, 2008, and I was hooked that very day!  I loved the variety and intensity of the workouts. I was never bored and actually looked forward to going to the gym!

I also got my eating habits under control and began eating Dr. Sears “Zone” diet.  Immediately I saw a difference in my workouts.  I was stronger and started setting personal records for every workout. I was even able to get my first pull up only 7 weeks after starting CrossFit. By Christmas I had lost over 15 pounds and had gone from a size 10-12 to a size 6!  I lost a few more pounds through the Spring but plateaued around May 2009 and couldn’t seem to lose that last little bit of weight.

Some good friends, Mark and Pam Rushmore, introduced me to AdvoCare and on July 1, 2009 I began taking AdvoCare supplements.  I take MNS Max 3, Catalyst, Thermo Plus, Spark, Muscle Fuel, and Nighttime Recovery.  By day 14 I had lost 3 pounds and started feeling leaner. After 6 weeks I had lost another 4% body fat!  My body composition changed and I began gaining muscle and losing body fat.  I’m leaner and stronger than I have ever been in my life.  I’m able to do full range of motion handstand push-ups and a muscle-up is not far away. I’m able to go heavier in my Olympic lifts and my cardio endurance has improved dramatically.

I’ve learned that women do not have to throw in the towel and give up on them selves after 35 or after having kids.  I am healthier now than I was 10, 15, even 20 years ago. I’m excited about the next chapter in my life and know that there are no limits except the ones I put on myself.  I have lost a total of 12% body fat, wear a size 2-4, and am in better shape today at 37 years old than I was playing volleyball in college.  I have more energy, better mental focus, and feel comfortable in a swimsuit for the first time in my life!Heather L sitheather shoulder press
