Our Mentor
Charles E Ragus
In 1993, Charles E. Ragus launched a new business enterprise called AdvoCare. He founded AdvoCare to be an organization that delivered cutting-edge nutritional products. In doing so, he wanted to put people first. Coming out of retirement after experienceing incredible success in the direct sales industry, Charlie vowed to be an advocate who cared for his Distributors. In fact, this is how he came up with the name “AdvoCare” and combined it with a mission to do things differently than any other direct-selling company.
During our 8 years with Charlie, we watched him sacrificially model how to work and live authentically. After much success, in June 2001, living larger than life, Charlie passed from this life. With his passing, his dreams and goals passed to the people of AdvoCare; men and women, whom he loved and mentored over the years. Charlie’s dream of helping people “become more” was passed on to us and others he mentored. Charlie’s dream had become our dream.
Like all great leaders, Charlie wanted his dream to live on for future generations. He radically invested in his people. He saw to it that we were surrounded, trained and developed by some of world’s very best leaders. He encouraged us, as we become more than we had ever dreamed possible. He motivated us to work harder on ourselves than on our businesses. Shoulder to shoulder we worked with Charlie, and AdvoCare became a shining star in the nutrition industry. Even today, our lives bear witness to his influence and that after all is his true legacy. Because he had empowered us, he was confident to leave AdvoCare in the hands of those he trusted most and often described as “some of the best leaders in America.”
Charlie’s legacy lives on today in a team of difference makers commissioned to deliver healing and hope. AdvoCare’s PowerHouse Team has members in every state in the union, allowing us to mentor and influence people all across this great nation. It’s a place where you can become, believe and belong. PowerHouse Team where ordinary people like you and me, can and do achieve the extraordinary. Take hold of your own better future and commit with us to something bigger than all of us!
The greatest gift a leader can give to his people is THE DREAM. Even today, we frequently ponder and always treasure the influence and mentorship of Charlie Ragus. He sacrifically modeled for us how to work and live authentically…by design…as our Father created us. It has been an honor and privilege to love and know the man. Hear’s to you Charlie.
